Consecrated Celebrations
Elevating Marginalized Voices in Academe: Lessons for a New Generation of Scholars centers and amplifies the narratives that will transform the future of academia. These narratives invite the exchange of ideas and the sharing of lived experiences from Black, Indigenous and Latin* people. By challenging the romanticization of traditional scholarship, this text will open the readers’ minds and hearts to the courageous moments documented in its pages.
I believe strongly in narrative as a means of healing and this workshop did just that. Additionally, I learned a new theory that I will study more this summer. This was the perfect workshop to end my conference.experience
Through the unique lens afforded by intersectionality, we address the need to listen to and value Black women’s stories. Our struggle was one struggle with many stories strung together, it was real, and it was a beautiful experience.
